Lucas was a young man diagnosed with skin cancer but used his power of Life Absorption on innocent victims to stay alive. This led to the death of Ben, when he committed suicide by walking off the roof of the Community Centre. This also made Finn try to hang himself, but was saved by Mark and Alex. Alex later confronted him on the roof, telling him that even though life was unfair, he had to do the right thing. Lucas later gave Finn his life energy back, though this caused his skin cancer to kill him in the process.
